2016 Audi Q6 Release Date and Price

The new generation of the Q5 SUV will be produced at the Audi’s plant in Mexico. Shortly after production of the new Q5 begins in 2016, Audi’s latest SUV is expected to be built at the same facility. Of course, it is the 2016 Audi Q6 which is going to be based on the new generation of the smaller Q5 SUV.

The new Q6 SUV was designed as a coupe version of the larger Q7 model. It is expected to share its powerplants with the new Q5 model, with the addition of some more powerful units. Namely, the German automaker has announced the S and RS versions of the upcoming Q6 model.

2016 Audi Q6 New SUV

The 2016 Q6 coupe is meant to rival the new-generation BMW X6 and Mercedes GLE Coupe. Needless to say, Audi’s designers have very little room for error when it comes to the new Q6. The styling has obviously been influenced by the Crosslane Coupe concept that was revealed in Paris back in 2012. The front fascia is dominated by narrow light clusters and a large grille. Thanks to applying a considerable number of advanced and light materials, the weight of the vehicle will be significantly reduced. Since Audi’s models have always been synonymous with high-quality cabins, we have no reason to doubt the new Q6’s interior design quality. The company will certainly put a lot of effort into making their latest SUV one of the most modern and advanced vehicles currently on the market.

According to recent announcements, the Q6 is expected to offer two gasoline and two diesel-powered engines. Their power ranges from 177 hp to 272 hp. Unfortunately, more detailed information concerning the engine lineup of the regular Q6 as well as the Q6 S i Q6 RS versions are still unavailable. What we do know is that the 2016 Audi Q6 will come with AWD as standard.

The 2016 Audi Q6 will be offered on the European market starting at around €43.000. As for the S and RS versions, it is reasonable to expect higher pricing. Although the new Q6 has been scheduled to arrive in late 2016, it is more likely to hit the showrooms in 2017. Bearing in mind the fact that the new-generation Q5 is due to arrive in mid 2016, we have reason to believe that a more realistic date of the Q6’s debut is sometime during 2017.
