2016 Audi RS Q3 Facelift
A minor facelift intended for the 2016 Audi RS Q3 is expected to bring some much-needed changes. The current model has been around since 2013 and the time has come for the German company to refresh the RS Q3 model. This high-performance small crossover has proven itself worthy of bearing the RS nametag. The base 2016 Audi Q3 is currently the smallest Audi’s crossover and it slots below the larger Q5 and Q7 models. However, that won’t be the case for much longer since the company has already announced the new Q1 crossover to make its debut soon. Also, besides the 2016 Audi RS Q3, the new Q7 is about to receive its own RS version.
2016 Audi RS Q3 Changes
The 2016 model will undergo certain changes of the vehicle’s layout. In other words, it will receive new 19-inch wheel patterns as well as some new graphics. In addition to that, the 2016 RS Q3 will come with a redesigned front fascia. The changes will be focused mainly on the refreshed black grille mesh and new squared-off air intakes. The new model will also get new Xenon Plus headlights with LED daytime running lights. As for the rear end, the changes won’t be as noticeable. The facelifted Audi RS Q3 2016 will inherit the same single exhaust from its predecessor. Unfortunately, that does compromise the image of an RS vehicle to some extent.
The interior design will undergo certain improvements but mostly subtle ones. One of the striking new details might be a new digital instrument panel equipped with a 12.3-inch display, the same one used in the 2016 Audi TT model. Also, we expect to see a number of enhancements of the safety systems as well some more modern materials applied in the cabin.
New engine for the US market
The current Audi Q3 is sold on the US market and the 2016 Audi RS Q3 is expected to follow in its footsteps. When it comes to power department, the base Q3 model has been fitted with the new 2.0 liter TFSI engine. Unfortunately, the details on the powerplant used in the RS version are yet to be officially confirmed.
The European version of the 2016 Audi RS Q3 will be powered by the same engine as its predecessor. It is a 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder unit that generates 310 hp and 309 lb-ft of torque. It needs 5.5 seconds to go from o do 60 mph, while its top speed is 155 mph.
