The entry-level 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine generates 290 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque at 4,800 rpm. It is paired with Mercedes-Benz’s W5A580 5-speed automatic transmission. With its fuel economy estimated at 25 hwy mpg, this unit offers the class-leading efficiency. Another one of its upsides is the quite impressive towing capacity 6,200 lbs.

The more powerful engine comes in the form of a 5.7-liter V8 HEMI that gives 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque at 4,250 rpm. It comes optional with all trims except for the R/T version which offers it as standard. The 2016 Dodge Durango powered by this unit will be coupled with a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission.

The 2016 Dodge Durango will retain the price of the current model. It is expected to start at $30,495 for the SXT model, while the 2016 Dodge Durango Citadel will be the range-topping model priced at $40,995. Of course, the pricing depends on the trim level, so the SXT Plus should cost $32,495, Durango Limited $36,895, while the 2016 Durango R/T should begin at $39,795.
