2016 Hyundai ix35 New-Gen Release Date

Hyundai’s ix35 SUV is due to be replaced by the all-new Tucson for the 2016 model year. Whereas the Tucson SUV first made its debut in 2004, the second generation arrived in 2009 with the new ix35 nameplate that was used outside the US. The South Korean automaker decided to reintroduce the Tucson badge in the rest of the world with the 2016 Hyundai ix35 (Tucson).

2016 Hyundai ix35 Design

When it comes to the exterior styling, the 2016 Hyundai ix35 (Tucson) boasts a more mature look. This time, both Euro- and US-spec models feature a virtually indentical exterior design. At the front, its new hexagonal grille incorporates horizontal slats. Thanks to the new horizontally oriented LED headlights and fog lights, the redesigned ix35 appears wider than before. Many agree that its new look has a more upscale feel to it. Compared to its predecessor, it comes 3.0 inches longer, 1.1-inch wider, while its wheelbase has been extended by 1.2-inch. According to Hyundai, its larger dimensions result in greater passenger space and cargo capacity. The Tucson’s new interior has undergone a thorough overhaul, receiving more premium materials such as the optional Wine Red leather. It has also got a redesigned dashboard as well as a more refined HVAC control interface.
