2016 Maserati Levante Price and Release
Maserati’s intention to build its first SUV vehicle received a lot of publicity when it was announced. The Italian automaker first revealed the Kubang concept back in September 2011. Three years after this SUV concept made its debut at the Frankfurt motor show, the company issued an official statement that announced the first Maserati SUV, named Levante, to enter production. The 2016 Maserati Levante is due to hit the dealerships by the end of 2016, its debut is scheduled for Detroit Auto Show 2016 . The model was originally intended to be produced in the US but the company later abandoned these plans. So, the upcoming Levante SUV will instead be built at the Mirafiori facility in Italy. The production will start in March 2016.
The most wanted information regarding upcoming SUV model is its price. None of the company officials did not say a projected cost of what would be. Although the information available on the Internet, mostly unverifiable all refer to the same data. Price 2016 Maserati Levante SUV will range from $ 100,000 it will cost the base model. While the price of the most expensive models even exceed $ 200,000.
Maserati has announced new models to be launched worldwide as part of the company’s 100th anniversary celebration. Besides the aforementioned Levante SUV, several other models are due to arrive within the next couple of years. The new Maserati Alfieri Coupe will make its debut during 2016. Also, the Alfieri Cabrio model is scheduled to arrive a year later, as well as the successor of the Gran Turismo Coupe.
2016 Maserati Levante Design and Specs
The 2016 Maserati Levante SUV will actually be based on the Maserati Ghibli. It will share some of its components with the Ghibli and Quattroporte saloons. However, most of its sheet metal comes from the Kubang cncept on which it’s based.
There will be three different powerplants under the hood of the upcoming Levante. As for the gasoline versions, there will be a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 that makes 410 hp and 550 Nm of torque as well as a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 motor generating 530 hp and 710 Nm of torque. In addition to these two units, a diesel-powered engine will be offered as well. It is a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel V6 that produces 275 hp and 600 Nm of torque. All of the engines will be coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The AWD configuration is marked by a Q4 badge and it has been modified for higher ground clearance vehicles.
