2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Redesign and Release

The redesigned 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport has recently been unveiled. Its third iteration comes after 20 years since the model was first released. The all-new 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport brings a large number of substantial changes that will make the famous SUV much more appealing compared to its predecessor.

Following the launch of the new 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander, the time has come for the next-generation 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport to undergo a thorough overhaul. This model will also be sold as the 2016 Mitsubishi Montero Sport and the 2016 Mitsubishi Challenger, depending on the market.

2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport New Design

The latest model is based on the same platform used by the 2016 Mitsubishi Triton and 2016 Mitsubishi L200 pickup models. According to announcements, the 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport will be built at the same facility that produces the Triton pickup in Thailand.

As for the new exterior design, the 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport gets a more dynamic and aggressive styling that mimics the redesigned Outlander to a large extent. Its new front fascia is dominated by a striking grille and larger air intakes fitted right below it. Also, its new narrow shaped headlights contribute to a more appealing front end. The 2016 Pajero Sport also comes with a large number of chrome accents as well as unique vertical tail lights.

When it comes to the engine range, there will be different units available depending on the market. Besides the underpinnings, the 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport will also borrow its powertrain options from the Triton pickup truck. So, expect to see a 2.4-liter turbo diesel engine offered in two variants. The less powerful option makes 154 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque, while the version generating more ponies delivers 181 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque. This engine will be coupled with a whole new eight-speed automatic transmission and an enhanced version of Mitsubishi’s Super-Select all-wheel drive system. The 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport/Montero Sport/Challenger is expected to hit the showrooms in more than 90 countries by the end of 2015.
