2016 Nissan Kicks New Crossover
Nissan first revealed the brand new crossover SUV at the 2014 Sao Paolo Motor Show. Namely, the concept version of the Nissan Kicks crossover made its first public appearance at the Brazilian automotive event. In early 2015, another variant of this model was unveiled as the Nissan Kicks Samba. According to official announcements, the model is due to go on sale some time in 2016. Interestingly, the production-ready version of the 2016 Nissan Kicks is expected to inherit most of its features from the aforementioned concept vehicle. The model is set to hit the Brazilian showrooms first, while the rest of the world should expect its sales to start at a later date.
2016 Nissan Kicks Design and Specs
The Kicks, being an urban crossover SUV, will slot between the Juke and the Qashqai models. The upcoming model is primarily the work of the Nissan Global Design Center based in Japanu. However, the South and North American design teams have also had much influence in the development process.
With its 4,300 mm in length, 1,800 in width and 1,600 mm in height, the 2016 Kicks will actually come as a considerably larger model compared to the Juke. Also, its wheelbase of 2,620 mm brings it much closer to the Qashqai. However, many believe that the upcoming Kicks will represent a cheaper and less extravagant version of the smaller Juke crossover.
As for the latest concept study of this interesting vehicle, the Nissan Kicks Samba came as a vehicle dedicated to the famous Rio de Janeiro samba carnival. Compared to the original concept model, it differs when it comes to exterior styling. Its most striking feature comes with the Pearl White body paint combined with intensive red accents. Moreover, the Samba version gets reshaped bumpers and side steps as well as new 19-inch alloy wheels.
