Not long after Nissan unveiled the 2016 X-Trail Hybrid, another version of this crossover SUV made its debut. Namely, the 2016 Nissan X-Trail with a new gasoline powerplant has recently been premiered. The model is already available on the UK market, with its pricing starting at £21,995.
So, the brand new engine, codenamed the DIG-T 163, is a four-cylinder 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline-powered unit. It generates 163 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque, and it comes with front-wheel drive only. The power is transmitted through a 6-speed manual transmission, while the model also features a start-stop system. The estimated fuel economy of the 2016 Nissan X-Trail DIG-T 163 is 6 L/100 km, with 145 g/km of CO2 emissions. This version needs 9.7 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h and its top speed is 200 km/h.

The conventional engine generates 147 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 270 Nm of torque 4,400 rpm, while the electric unit creates 41 horsepower and 160 of torque. The power is transmitted to the wheels through the XTRONIC automatic transmission.
As for its appearance, the hybrid model is virtually identical to the standard one apart from its LED fog lights and „Pure Drive Hybrid“ nameplate. Besides that, there is a display fitted on the dashboard that shows the hybrid system information.
The 2016 Nissan X-Trail Hybrid offers a significantly improved fuel economy, with lower Nox and NMHC emissions. According to the company’s announcements, the model will be offered on the US market as well. There, it will be sold as the 2016 Nissan Rogue Hybrid.
