2016 Opel Mokka Changes
Opel launched its sub-compact crossover SUV only three years ago. The popular Mokka exceeded all expectations becoming one of the best-selling models in the segment. Thanks to its fresh design, high quality and excellent performance, it turned out to be appealing to a large customer base. However, the German automaker decided to waste no time and announced the Mokka’s facelift. The 2016 Opel Mokka will be refreshed before it hits the market. It is expected to offer a number of visual changes and possibly some additions to its current engine lineup.
2016 Opel Mokka Redesign
The 2016 Mokka will feature a mildly refreshed exterior styling. The bulk of these changes will be visible on its front end which includes revisions of the front bumper, the grille as well as the light clusters. The rear end will receive several tweaks too, including a new bumper and revised light clusters. As for the interior, it is expected to undergo certain improvements. The Opel Mokka 2016 will be offered with an enhanced infotainment system, while the central console is due to receive a number of tweaks.
Meanwhile, the current model has already received a new engine that replaced the 1.7-liter diesel unit. Namely, it is the 1.6-liter turbo-diesel CDTI that makes 136 hp and 320 Nm of torque. Thanks to its aluminum architecture, the vehicle’s reduced weight boosted the engine output and fuel-efficiency. A model with this engine has a top speed of more than 190 km/h, while it needs less than ten seconds to go from 0 do 100 km/h. Besides this unit, the Mokka SUV is offered with a gasoline- as well as a LNG-powered engine. A new three-cylinder unit will be added to the 2016 Opel Mokka’s lineup.
The 2015 Opel Mokka model has received many awards thanks to its superb features and quality. It has been titled the best all-wheel drive car of the year several times. Its fuel consumption is estimated at 4 l/100 km, with the CO2 emissions of 109 g/km. Such low CO2 emissions are due to the DPF filters. The 2016 Opel Mokka will be available in both AWD and FWD configurations. While the AWD version gets a six-speed automatic transmission, the FWD models will be paired with a manual gearbox.
Its modern design, top performance and impressive fuel-efficiency make the Mokka one of the best-selling models not only in the Opel’s lineup but in the crossover segment as well. The 2016 Opel Mokka with the latest enhancements will become even more appealing to buyers. It is expected to follow in the footsteps of its successful predecessors and even surpass them.
