2016 Suzuki Vitara New Version
The 2016 Suzuki Vitara will come only a year after the model was launched in its latest iteration. However, the Japanese automaker plans to offer a new exclusive trim level named the S Grade. As for the standard version, it will carry over virtually unchanged. Now, the 2016 Vitara S will differ from the regular models due to a number of luxury features and a brand new turbocharged engine.
2016 Suzuki Vitara Specs
Visually, the Vitara S will be easily distinguishable thanks to its new five-slot chrome grille that was taken from the iV-4 SUV concept. Also, expect the new model to arrive with LED daytime running lights. The rest of the vehicle features the familiar funky styling of the brand new Vitara crossover. Although the model shares most of its components with the slightly larger S-Cross, it boasts a more appealing shape. While its front fascia features an aggressive design, the rear end is a bit non-descript and bland. Anyway, the new Vitara’s styling package makes it one of the strong contenders in this increasingly competitive segment. Inside, the Vitara S comes with red stitching on the leather uhpolstery as well as a suede-like material that covers the seats and steering wheel. Finally, the 2016 Suzuki Vitara S will be available with standard Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB).
2016 Suzuki Vitara New Engine
Not only will the 2016 Suzuki Vitara offer new design cues, it will also gain a brand new gasoline powertrain. Namely, the 1.4-liter turbocharged direct-injection unit will be producing 138 horsepower and 220 Nm of torque. Compared to the current naturally-aspirated 1.6-liter gasoline engine that makes 118 hp and 156 Nm, this is a substantial increase. While the current engine returns quite competitive 50.4 mpg and 130 g/km of CO2 emissions, the new Vitara S is expected to further improve these figures.
2016 Suzuki Vitara Release Date
The 2016 Suzuki Vitara is expected will go on sale on most of the markets by the end of 2015.
