2017 Cadillac SRX Release Date
The new-generation Cadillac SRX SUV is due to arrive in the first quarter of 2016. Not long after its premiere, the 2017 Cadillac SRX is expected to hit the dealerships. The launch of the latest generation of this great SUV was initially scheduled for early 2015 but has been postponed several times. After skipping the 2015 NAIAS in Detroit and the 2015 LA Auto Show, the SRX’s release date was finally set for early 2016.
The upcoming model will be based on the new C1XX/Chi platform that underpins several other GM’s SUV models. In fact, all of the company’s models that used to ride on the Lambda platform will adopt the aforementioned new underpinnings. The 2017 GMC Acadia and 2017 Chevrolet Traverse will be among them, followed by the 2017 Buick Enclave. This new platform allows both short and long wheelbase versions. Not only will the 2017 Cadillac SRX come with the new architecture and exterior styling, it will also adopt the new 2017 Cadillac XT5 name badge.
2017 Cadillac SRX Redesign
The upcoming new generation of the SRX will feature an updated exterior design. It’s expected to come with a bolder styling, compared to its predecessor. The redesigned model will feature a revised front grille as well as reshaped front and rear light clusters. At the front, the SRX gets vertical LED headlights, while the rear side is dominated by boomerang-shaped tail lights. The overall appearance will become more aggressive thanx to its striking new grille and company’s signature vertical headlights. The 2017 SRX will retain its familiar profile but with a more prominent side crease. There will be a new dual exhaust as well.
All of the Cadillac models are set to receive the latest technological systems. It’s no different with the 2017 Cadillac SRX which is due to come with an enhanced CUE infotainment system. The system itself has received a more powerful processor, new Surround Vision feature as well as new satellite navigation. The upcoming SRX will also feature Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
According to unofficial announcements, the 2017 SRX will be available with one naturally aspirated and one turbocharged engine. The turbocharged four-cylinder 2.0-liter engine is rated at 265 horsepower, while the 2017 Cadillac SRX powered by a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 should deliver around 335 horsepower.
