2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport Release
The 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport is due to receive a number of exterior and interior updates. This compact crossover first arrived for the 2013 MY as a different variant of the Santa Fe SUV. While the regular Santa Fe continued to compete in the mid-size SUV segment, the five-passenger Santa Fe Sport was offered to those who opt for a smaller and more athletic crossover. As for the changes expected from the 2017 Santa Fe Sport, they will include several mostly mild exterior upgrades as well as reshuffled equipment packages.
2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport Design
We expect the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport to come with a number of styling changes that will set it apart from its predecessor. More precisely, there will be a slightly revised front grille accompanied by reshaped headlights, as far as the front fascia is concerned. At the back, expect to see redesigned tail-lights as well as a restyled bumper. Otherwise, the refreshed Santa Fe Sport will feature the same sharp styled exterior seen on the previous model. It will once again be offered with standard 17-inch alloy wheels, with the Sport 2.0T fitted with 18-inch alloys.
The changes inside the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport will be more subtle. As the current model already offers contemporary interior design, the upcoming upgrades will include only several tweaks. The Santa Fe Sport’s cabin boasts a decent number of high-quality materials and a user-friendly dashboard. Another feature that makes it highly practical is the rear bench that folds in 40/20/40 split, while the cargo space is very generous.
The 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport will once again be offered with a choice of two four-cylinder powertrains. The base Sport model will get a 2.4-liter engine that makes 190 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. In case you need more power, there will be the 2.0-liter turbocharged unit that churns out 265 hp and 269 lb-ft of twist. Both engines come with direct fuel injection and continuously variable valve timing, available with the sole six-speed automatic transmission.
2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport Price
Official pricing details have yet to be released, but we have reason to believe that the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport will cost more or less the same as the outgoing version. The entry-level 2016 Santa Fe Sport is currently priced at around $26,000.
