2017 Infiniti QX30 Release Date
It seems that the BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA and Audi Q3 are about to face a great rival. Namely, the 2017 Infiniti QX30 crossover SUV will make its debut in mid-2016. The new model will finally enter production in December 2015 after numerous announcements and concept models. The vehicle will be built at the same Sunderland facility which is set to produce the 2017 Nissan Juke crossover.
The Infiniti Q30 concept model was first revealed at the 2013 Frankfurt motor show. Alongside the crossover body style, the concept was also presented in a sedan variation. Initially, there was some confusion about the 2017 QX30 and its future appearance. All of the speculations eventually ended when a pre-production model of the 2017 Infiniti QX30 SUV made its debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
The Japanese company is pretty optimistic when it comes to this model’s future. The 2017 Infiniti QX30 will be offered in the US, Europe as well as on most of the other world markets. Europe is especially targeted as potentially the best market as far as the QX30’s sales figures are concerned. Needless to say, the crossover SUV segment has been growing rapidly during the last several years. Infiniti’s upcoming model almost perfectly matches the description of a currently desirable model in that segment.
2017 Infiniti QX30 Design
The 2017 Infiniti QX30 will be based on the Q30 concept as well as the pre-production QX30 version. Naturally, its exterior styling will differ to some extent but it is expected to incorporate many of the design cues seen on these models.
According to some reports, the 2017 QX30 will feature a muscular, coupe-like appearance. That falls in line with the concept vehicle’s styling. Thanks to its exterior design and dimensions, the 2017 Infiniti QX30 closely resembles the Mercedes GLA model. The model’s dimensions are 174.3 l/71.4 w/60 h inches, which makes the upcoming model 1.2 inches higher than the concept version.
Another difference between the concept and production-ready model is in the architecture. While the concept was made of aluminum, the company announced the upcoming model’s chassis to be made of mostly steel components. Besides that, the 2017 Infiniti QX30 will feature smaller wheels than those 21-inch ones that were fitted on the concept model.
The 2017 QX30 will boast one of the most modern and luxurious interior designs in the segment. The seats will come with leather upholstery and double stitching in different color. Unlike the concept model that came with 5+2 seating layout, the production version will be able to carry up to 5 passengers. Alongside the premium quality design, the new model will be replete with the latest infotainment and safety features.
2017 Infiniti QX30 Engine
As for the power department, the 2017 Infiniti QX30 will be offered with a four-cylinder 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with direct injection. This unit will generate 211 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque.
