2017 Infiniti QX70 Redesign
When it first arrived in 2003, Infiniti’s luxury crossover SUV was sold under the FX badge. The current generation of the QX70 made its debut back in 2009 and then went on to change its moniker in 2013. Apart from receiving a facelift in 2011, this sleek crossover hasn’t changed much over the years and the signs of aging are pretty obvious. Nissan’s luxury brand will have to give the QX70 a thorough overhaul in order to keep the model competitive in this unforgiving segment. We believe that the 2017 Infiniti QX70 is due to arrive as a completely redesigned model, marking a whole new generation of this stylish crossover SUV.
2017 Infiniti QX70 Changes
Although the current model still offers an attractive exterior styling, the 2017 Infiniti QX70 is expected to adopt more modern lines. However, we believe that the redesigned model will retain its recognizable profile, including the swooping roof line. There will be significant changes when it comes to the front fascia and light clusters. Now, the outdated interior will definitely undergo the most substantial overhaul. It goes without saying that the 2017 QX70 will be replete with premium materials but we expect a cabin design more in line with the latest trends. Rumor has it that the all-new model might ride on a new lighter platform. Thanks to the use of lightweight aluminum and high-strength steel, its curb weight might come greatly reduced. As a result, the QX70’s trademark sporty driving experience could be improved even further.
2017 Infiniti QX70 Engine Range
Official specifications when it comes to the engine range are yet to be released. Some sources speculate that the 2017 Infiniti QX70 will be fitted with a brand new engine under its hood. It will allegedly be motivated by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged DOHC V6 that generates in excess of 350 horsepower. Whether there is any truth to these speculations, remains to be seen. As for the current version, it comes with a 3.7-liter V6 that makes 325 horsepower. This unit is paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission with both manual-shift mode and Adaptive Shift Control. The outgoing QX70 is offered in rear-wheel drive (RWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) form.
2017 Infiniti QX70 Release Date
The launch of the 2017 Infiniti QX70 is still in the dark. However, we expect it to make its debut in the second half of 2016. Of course, we’ll be eagerly awaiting any new details on the redesigned luxury-performance SUV.
