2017 Lincoln MKC Release Date
Lincoln’s compact crossover is a relatively fresh model that made its debut in 2013 for the 2014 MY. Now, the 2017 Lincoln MKC is due to undergo a mid-cycle update that should help it to remain competitive in this rapidly expanding segment. There will be several subtle changes of the exterior and certain innovations inside the 2017 model.
2017 Lincoln MKC Changes
As for the exterior styling, the 2017 Lincoln MKC will receive only minor cosmetic tweaks. We expect to see revised headlights and bumpers with new integrated fog lights. There won’t be any radical changes when it comes to its recognizable split wing grille. This sleek crossover is expected to retain its elegant profile including the familiar flowing roofline. Inside, there will be some minor tweaks on the dashboard as well as a couple of new high-quality materials. Also, the MyLincoln Touch system should undergo some minor enhancements for the 2017 model year. The list of standard equipment will include several safety features which are currently offered as optional. Those include blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and Active Park Assist systems.
2017 Lincoln MKC Engine Specs
The 2017 Lincoln MKC is expected to carry over unchanged as far as its engine range is concerned. Just like it is the case with the current MKC, there will be two turbocharged Ecoboost four-cylinders to choose between. The entry-level 2.0-liter unit, found also in the Ford Escape, produces 240 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. As for the optional engine, it comes as the 2.3-liter unit that gives 285 hp and 305 lb-ft of torque. Both options are paired with a six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission with control paddles mounted on the steering wheel. Although the engine lineup provides pretty good fuel economy figures, it lags behind the competition when it comes to the towing capacity. Compared to the class-leading Audi Q5’s 4,400 pounds, the MKC’s 3,000 pounds seem quite feeble.
2017 Lincoln MKC Price
Pricing details are yet to be released but we expect the 2017 Lincoln MKC to stay in the familiar pricing range. The updated model is most likely to hit the market in the second half of 2016.
