2017 Nissan Juke Release Date
Although the 2016 Nissan Juke was widely perceived as the first model of the second generation, it seems we’ll have to wait a bit longer for the new generation of this popular crossover. The 2017 Nissan Juke, however, is due to arrive in late 2016 and hit the dealerships shortly after. That will mark the beginning of the Juke’s much-anticipated new generation.
The Nissan Juke was first revealed at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. This highly distinctive and uniquely designed model has drawn a lot of attention to itself from the very beginning. While some view it as an original and attractive vehicle, others despise it as an odd and ugly model. However, it seems that Juke’s fan base is quite large, having in mind the fact that Nissan has sold more than 450.000 units. Anyway, the 2017 Nissan Juke is about to be upgraded and possibly become even more successful.
2017 Nissan Juke Changes
While the 2016 Nissan Juke came mostly unchanged, the 2017 Juke is expected to undergo certain changes. The Japanese company still regards the Juke’s design as fresh and attractive, so the 2017 Nissan Juke is not expected to come with drastic changes of its exterior styling.
The announced changes will be focused mainly on its interior design and technological improvements. Besides that, the new Juke will be underpinned by a new platform. It is the new CMF-A platform that the 2017 Juke is supposed to share with other Nissan-Renault group’s models. The new platform is meant to lower the production costs significantly. It will also facilitate various modifications that could help the Juke stay competitive in this relentless segment. The 2017 Nissan Juke will be built at the same Sunderland facility that already produces the Nissan Micra and Renault Clio models. The Nissan Juke’s current yearly production is around 150,000 units. The company’s goal is to increase the sales figures with the 2017 Nissan Juke.
Some of the rumors that have surfaced lately suggest a complete change of the new Juke’s exterior styling. Many have associated this model with the Nissan Kicks concept but, in reality, those are two completely different models. The Nissan Kicks will serve as a basis for the new Kicks model intended exclusively for the Brazilian market. On the other hand, the 2017 Nissan Juke will be sold all around the world. Others suggest that the Nissan Kicks will actually be sold as a cheaper version of the Juke. Anyhow, these two models aren’t connected in any way.
2017 Nissan Juke Engines
The 2017 Nissan Juke will have a wider choice of powertrain options. In addition to the current engines, the new model will be offered with a new three-cylinder 1.0-liter powerplant. This unit already propels the Nissan Micra model. Following the launch of the new-generation Juke, there will be the 2017 Nissan Juke Nismo version intended for those who seek sporty driving experience and top-notch performance.
