2017 Nissan Murano Release Date
Arriving as a completely redesigned model for the 2015 MY, the Nissan Murano is currently one of the freshest SUVs in this hotly contested segment. In addition to its radically improved exterior styling and technological features, a hybrid-powered version of the redesigned model is due to join the lineup for the 2016 MY. Now, the 2017 Nissan Murano is expected to bring a number of subtle upgrades when it comes to the design, as well as some mechanical tweaks.
Exterior and Interior Design
As for the exterior design, expect the 2017 Nissan Murano to come with its sheet metal pretty much unchanged. The only notable changes could come with new body paints as well as some minor tweaks on the front fascia. The Murano will once again be offered with its head-turning styling that includes such features as Nissan’s signature V-shaped grille and the boomerang-shaped light clusters. What sets this sleek SUV apart from the competition is its impressive aerodynamics with a coefficient of drag of just 0.31.
The interior of the 2017 Nissan Murano is due to undergo only minor rearrangements. It will certainly remain one of the most comfortable models on the market, especially with Nissan’s „zero gravity“ seats. Along with advanced technological amenities, the new Murano is available with a huge panoramic roof that gives the cabin plenty of natural light. It also comes with an impressive cargo capacity of 39.6 cubic feet with the rear seats up, and almost 70 cubic feet when the seats are folded down.
2017 Nissan Murano Drivetrain
The standard version of the 2017 Nissan Murano will be powered by the same V6 engine that was retuned for the third-generation model. Namely, the 3.5-liter unit will be producing 260 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque. It will be paired with an Xtronic continuously variable transmission that comes with „D-Step Logic“. Compared to its predecessor, the new Murano with the revised V6 and improved aerodynamics boasts 20-percent-better fuel economy. As for the plug-in hybrid variant, it gets a supercharged 2.5-liter 4-cylinder unit combined with a 15 kW electric motor and lithium-ion batteries.
2017 Nissan Murano Price
The 2017 Nissan Murano is expected to hit the showrooms in mid-2016, although the official release date is yet to be released. The base Murano S with FWD is likely to start just under $30,000, while the Platinum model with AWD will be priced higher than $40,000.
