2017 Peugeot 3008 Release Date and Price
There has been much debate concerning the 2017 Peugeot 3008. As far as its Chinese customer base is concerned, the model has been expected to transform into a more traditional SUV form. On the other hand, there are many opposing opinions when it comes to the 3008 and its future. However, it appears that the mystery has been solved thanks to the very latest spy photos of a test prototype. Despite being wrapped in heavy camouflage, these pictures show clearly that the 2017 Peugeot 3008 is about to adopt a more conventional SUV styling. The next-generation model is expected to make its debut during 2016.
The 2017 Peugeot 3008 will be influenced greatly by the Quartz Hybrid SUV that was first unveiled at the 2014 Paris motor show. Thanks to the aforementioned spy images, we now know that the upcoming 3008 will no longer feature the tall wagonlike appearance of its predecessor. Instead, its new profile reveals shorter overhangs, more curvacious front and rear fascias as well as rising flanks. As mentioned earlier, the model’s great popularity on the Chinese market has encouraged the Peugeot’s designers to go for a more traditional SUV shape than it used to be the case with the previous generation. However, it remains to be seen to what extent will the 2017 Peugeot 3008 correspond with the taste of the Asian markets.
2017 Peugeot 3008 Design and Specs
The all-new 2017 3008 SUV is expected to ride on the same platform as the current 308 SW. In that regard, we expect the new model to offer a notably larger rear legroom compared to the outgoing version. Despite receiving a completely redesigned exterior styling, the upcoming 3008 is not expected to offer any revolutionary changes inside the cabin. Once again, it will take most of its interior design cues from the Peugeot 308.
As for the new engine department, the 2017 Peugeot 3008 is expected to come with a range of three and four-cylinder units, both gasoline and diesel-powered. Their power output will range between 110 and 165 hp. According to some sources, we might get to see diesel engines ranging from 100 to 180 horsepower.
In addition to the conventional engine range, the company plans to offer a hybrid version at a later date. There have already been announcements made by the company’s officials concerning the 2017 Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 Plug-In. Namely, it is the version that combines a diesel unit with an electric system. As for the standard gas-electric Plug-In Hybrid model, it is expected to be launched by the end of this decade.
Although the more detailed specifications are yet to be released, the French Auto Plus has already come up with some estimates concerning the pricing. According to them, the 2017 Peugeot 3008 should start around €23,000 on the French market.
