2017 Porsche Macan GTS Release Date

Porsche has recently revealed its newcomer to Macan lineup. The new Macan GTS should slot between the S model and the high-performance Turbo version, hitting the market in March 2016. So, the 2017 Porsche Macan GTS will primarily be aimed at those who opt for extra horsepower paired with sporty suspension. Porsche’s latest GTS edition will join the performance line that already includes Cayenne, Cayman, Panamera, 911 and Boxster GTS variations.

 Drivetrain

Of course, the most important piece of information concerning the 2017 Porsche Macan GTS is its power output. Namely, the same 3.0-liter V6 that propels the Macan S will be used by the GTS version. However, this unit will be tuned to produce 360 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, instead of the 340 hp and 349 lb-ft offered by the S model. It’s interesting to note that the peak torque will vary somewhere between 1,500 rpm and 4,000 rpm. Just like the Macan Turbo, the new GTS will be matched to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. It will also come standard with Porsche’s all-wheel drive system that features Traction Management.

The Macan GTS will get Porsche Active Suspension Management with the ability to adjust the ride height (10 millimeters) and stiffness depending on the conditions. Apart from that, the vehicle gets a unique calibration of the electronic stability control as well as an optional brake-based torque vectoring system. As for the braking system, it will comprise 14.2-inch discs with six-piston calipers in the front and 13-inch discs with single-piston calipers at the back. If you opt for the Sport Chrono package with its launch-control function, the Macan GTS will hit the 60 mph limit in just 4.8 seconds.

The 2017 Porsche Macan GTS will distinguish itself from the rest of the lineup thanks to some exterior features as well. In addition to numerous black accents, it gets bright red brake calipers and 20-inch RS Spyder wheels. Inside the cabin, the new GTS will offer a standard leather package, Alcantara sport seats as well as GTS logos on the headrests. As far as the connectivity features are concerned, expect this vehicle to come with the new Porsche Connect and Connect Plus systems that include Apple CarPlay smartphone integration and a WiFi hotspot.
