2017 Range Rover Sport Changes and Release
As confirmed by the recently spied test mule, Land Rover is currently in the process of updating the Range Rover Sport model. The upgraded 2017 Range Rover Sport is due to arrive in the second half of 2016. Even though the current model has been around for only two years now, the British automaker is already determined to give it a mid-cycle facelift. The current Range Rover Sport SUV was premiered in March 2013, receiving a number of tweaks and updates since then.
2017 Range Rover Sport Facelift
The most notable changes expected from the 2017 model will be concentrated on its front fascia. According to the spy shots, the 2017 Range Rover Sport should come with a reshaped front grille, a revised bumper and a modified hood. There will also be some minor tweaks at the rear side as well as inside the cabin.
Besides the cosmetic changes of its exterior and interior, expect the 2017 Range Rover Sport to receive a more advanced technology as well. One of the interesting new features will be the InControl Protect system with the ability to notify emergency services in case of an accident. There is also the InControl Remote Premium system which provides a large number of services. The list of the most advanced features includes the start/stop system, All Terrain Progress as well as Auto Access Height system.
For those who opt for a more personalized vehicle, Land Rover offers special equipment packages. The new Carbon Fiber Package features a modified grille, special rearview mirrors and a reshaped rear end.
2017 Range Rover Sport Specs
As for the engine range, the 2017 Range Rover Sport is expected to carry over unchanged. It includes a number of mighty gasoline- and diesel-powered units. The only notable change comes with the diesel engine making its way on the US market for the first time. The 2017 Range Rover Sport Diesel US will be powered by a 3.0-liter TD6 turbodiesel V6 that gives 254 horsepower and 439 lb-ft of torque.
Alongside the standard model, the HST and SVR badged models will be available as well. The 2017 Range Rover Sport HST will get a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 that churns out 380 horsepower, which is a 40 hp increase compared to the standard model. In addition to the more powerful engine, the HST version comes with ample equipment within its Stealth Pack package. It also offers a redesigned front spoiler, glossy black accents and Santorini black roof. This model is available with Dark Satin Grey 21-inch alloy wheels, modified suspension and red brake calipers. The interior boasts two-color sports seats, aluminum pedals, Oxford leather upholstery and HST logos.
Despite being a richly appointed model with all sorts of sleek features, the 2017 Range Rover Sport HST isn’t actually the most prestigious option in the Sport family. The range-topping model will come as the 2017 Range Rover Sport SVR.
