2017 Toyota Sequoia Redesign
Contrary to some announcements, the Toyota Sequoia is not likely to undergo a thorough design before 2020. However, this full-size SUV is due to receive certain updates that should help it soldier on for a few more years. The current generation was first revealed back in 2007, sharing its underpinnings with the Tundra pickup truck. As one of the few remaining traditional body-on-frame SUVs, the Sequoia competes with the likes of the Chevy Suburban, GMC Yukon and Ford Expedition. Now, the 2017 Toyota Sequoia is rumored to get several upgrades when it comes to the styling and fuel economy.
2017 Toyota Sequoia Updates
Needless to say, the current Sequoia offers a bulky exterior design that makes it one of the most imposing vehicles on the road. Some of the styling cues that contribute to its masculine looks include a large chrome grille, flared fenders and tall hood. As for the 2017 Toyota Sequoia, we expect it to arrive with mild alterations of its front fascia. The refreshed model will get a reshaped front bumper, revised headlights and a slightly restyled grille. These changes are supposed to give the Sequoia a more elegant and up-to-date appearance compared to the outgoing version. Inside the cabin, expect to see several tweaks focused on the dashboard and center stack. Also, the new interior is likely to offer improved materials and cleaner looks.
2017 Toyota Sequoia Engine Specs
As far as the engine department is concerned, the current Sequoia boasts a strong and reliable 5.7-liter V8. This mighty unit churns out 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque. It’s paired with a six-speed automatic transmission that comes with a low first gear and two overdrive gears. Thanks to its engine and transmission, this family-hauler can tow up to 7,400 pounds. However, the Sequoia’s major downside is its rather poor fuel economy rated at 13/17 mpg (city/highway). This is exactly the area in which the 2017 Toyota Sequoia is expected to offer significant improvements. We expect the upcoming model to receive a revised drivetrain that should provide a better fuel efficiency. More detailed information on that matter have yet to be released.
2017 Toyota Sequoia Release Date
The 2017 Toyota Sequoia is most likely to hit the dealerships in late 2016.
