2018 BMW X7 The Ultra-Luxurious Version
BMW has announced the arrival of its largest and the most luxurious X7 for the 2017 model year. Some of the recent reports suggest that an ultra-luxurious version of this SUV is very likely to hit the market as the ultra-luxurious 2018 BMW X7. This plush variant of the BMW X7 is expected to take on the upcoming Mercedes-Maybach GLS SUV. Just like the standard X7, the ultra-luxurious 2018 BMW X7 is due to arrive in late 2017 or early 2018.
The upcoming X7 and the luxurious X7 models will be produced at BMW’s facility in Spartanburg, South Carolina. According to the company, the 2018 BMW X7 will be aimed primarily at the US, Russian and Chinese markets. It is expected to establish itself as a worthy opponent to the Mercedes GLS SUV, which is actually a redesigned version of the current GL model. The Bavarian automaker plans to churn out around 50,000 yearly.
The Luxurious 2018 BMW X7 Specs
Compared to the standard version, the ultra-luxurious 2018 BMW X7 will differ when it comes to the exterior styling, passenger capacity as well as equipment packages. Some reports suggest that this luxury variant will be able to carry only four passengers. That means that the second row will come with two separate seats, while there will be no third row of seats at all. Needless to say, the interior will be replete with luxurious features such as the plush new seats fitted with heating and cooling systems as well as a massage function. The rear passengers will have an advanced infotainment system at their disposal. That said, we expect this X7 variant to be successful in rivalling the upcoming Mercedes-Maybach GLS.
The new BMW X7 will be made of such materials as aluminum, carbon fiber and magnesium. In that way, the vehicle will be able to come with reduced curb weight and better performance figures. The 2018 BMW X7 will share many of its components with the new generation of the 7 Series. Moreover, it is expected to have a lot in common with the future Rolls-Royce SUV as well.
As is the case with the rest of BMW’s lineup, the X7 will be offered with a long list of powertrains. Of course, the engine options will differ depending on the market. One thing is certain, the European version will be powered by the 6.0-liter V12 gasoline engine. This unit is already used by the BMW 760i, in which it produces 550 horsepower and 554 lb-ft of torque. Alongside the conventional engines, there will be a hybrid-powered model available as well. As for the Luxurios 2018 BMW X7, the official details concerning its engine range are yet to be released. What we do know is that the X7, in all of its versions, will be offered with an eight-speed automatic transmission and AWD as standard.
The ultra-luxurious 2018 BMW X7 Price
When it comes to the standard X7, it is expected to compete with the Audi Q7, Mercedes GLS, Infiniti QX80, Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator. According to some estimates, the entry-level 2018 BMW X7 will be priced around $60,000, while the range-topping version might cost $130,000. Unfortunately, we are still awaiting official announcements concerning the pricing of the ultra-luxurious 2018 BMW X7. Bearing in mind the level of luxury it provides, it would be no surprise if this model’s price starts in excess of $150,000.
