2018 Jeep Wrangler Redesign
The latest offering of the iconic 2018 Jeep Wrangler will be released later in 2017. It is likely to be released at the Detroit Auto Show . Its price will be around $25000 for the base or entry version. The current Wrangler has been around for some time. Final details have yet to released but details from a variety of sources hint what might be available.
Possible options are eight speed automatic and six-speed manual (stick shift) gasoline (Petrol) versions. 2018 Jeep Wrangler Diesel is also highlighted. The suspension has been something of a design issue with the Wagoneer independent and RAM 4 x 4 variants looked at. Motor industry insiders speculate that they will stick with the current solid floating axles with the configuration modified. This would satisfy the likes of Mopar and aftermarket suppliers selling modifications to keep the road clearance sufficiently high enough for a variety of options.
2018 Jeep Wrangler Design Changes
Other speculation about 2018 Wrangler is around the bodywork and an all aluminum option. Sergio Marchionne did not see why they could not continue with steel based alloys. That would reduce the weight without compromising the rigidity needed. Aerospace technology especially early adaptations in the industry realized that excessive flexing could occur under force. Also the strength to weight ration and rigidity or lack of it in aluminum/titanium alloys would not support the rigors of off-road operational conditions.
Other modifications to the structure might be redesign the top of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler. Options without tops require alternative supports for safety. The reinforcements to support this could replace safety bars with an up and over wrap around bars. This option is provided not just for regulatory changes but makes producing the fixed roof versions easier due to less retooling or re-engineering.
The new shapes suggest a streamlined body work similar to Range Rover’s a few years ago. The traditional soft top is to go but replaced by soft panels or the main frame. This is seems with more sporty manufacturers like BMW offering hardtop options that clip onto the car body. The main change is really the front of the vehicle with grille, bumper and lights being less prominent. It makes the front more streamlined. The modified wheel arches allow the new styling to compliment the more traditional box shape of the rest of the Jeep. The 2018 Jeep Wrangler model will be available in 2 door and 4 door options. There will be short and long wheel base which gives the usual flexibility for pickup truck and station wagon.
There is no change in the overall dimensions. So the interior of 2018 Wrangler will remain very similar but technological advances and creature comforts indicate the possibility of special options being available in line with Chrysler’s iconic changes to the motor trade in the 1970s. This could realize a variety of individualized options from seating materials to on board technology both in car entertainment and a variety of other driver aids.
In conclusion the iconic Jeep Wrangler SUV has been due for an up-grade for some time but the information to hand is that they have fused tradition with new concepts.
